My name “Kaku” can mean “ square” or “to draw” in Japanese, which is perfect because I’m a square who likes to draw. My love for cartoons, anime, graffiti, Japanese culture, fantasy, and random cute stuff has shaped my illustrative style. You will also see my weird sense of humor coming through. Enjoy!
Cool Kats Maneki Neko
This is a design I made as a fun interpretation of who I am. I am a fourth generation Japanese American so drew the Maneki Neko that you often see in Japanese restaurants and businesses. I gave it a Hip Hop twist since I love Hip Hop culture.

I entered this piece in the Fan Factory fan art contest put on by BoxLunch Gifts. The theme was “Fun with Food.” All designs submitted were to be original works and have something to do with food. “Milk Tease” is the pun I came up with along with the character Royale B Milk Tea. Royale B is always teasing Milk for being basic.

cheshire cat
This illustration is my take on the Cheshire Cat character from Alice in Wonderland. This homicidal, mad cat can disappear, teleport, and phase through objects, making Cheshire the puurrrfect killing machine. Overuse of these abilities has left this cat's limbs and parts of his tail, intangible, which gives him an unnaturally long reach and attacks that are difficult to detect.
